About
Hugh Gu works across sound, sculpture, installation, and video. His ideas often begin with history, society, nature, spirituality, and memory, especially subjects he has lived with or feels personally connected to.
Sound-based sculpture and installation allow him to build immersive spatial experiences, while video gives form to concepts that cannot exist physically.
Across these forms, he treats sound as a bridge between material experience, personal memory, and broader histories.
